Why China Power Innovation Award Favored ZTT Submarine Cable?

Recently, China Electricity Council unveiled the winners of 2018 Power Innovation Awards. Great-length, high-resistance and ultra-high voltage cross linked polyethylene (XLPE) insulated power cable, new product independently developed by ZTT Submarine was awarded with the second prize for China Power Innovation Award.

China Power Innovation Award, a power innovation award set by China Electricity Council, was selected yearly to promote the innovation in power engineering technology and industry management with the aim of rewarding entities and individuals who made outstanding innovations in the field.

Key indicators of current award-winning products were significant superior to standard requirements, and comprehensive technical performance of the product reached the internationally advanced level and had been applied to various demonstration projects. Nanjing Qinglongshan Power Transmission and Transformation Project "Qiuteng - Gaowang 220kV Transmission Line" of State Grid Corporation of China (CGCC) was the single ultra-high voltage land cable project with maximum length in China, the single high-voltage cable with the specification in 1450 meters and 2500 mm2 provided by ZTT was chosen, currently it operate stably,  receiving high recognition  from CGCC.

According to the introduction of Xue Jianling, vice president of ZTT Submarine, ZTT seized the development opportunity and adhered to the strategic culture with “scientific and technological innovation and fine manufacturing”, and made major breakthroughs in the research and development and large-scale production of high-voltage power cable serialized products. The research, development and industrialization of great-length, large-section and ultra-high-voltage cable will provide new solutions for improving single supply length of land cable, reduce the intermediate joints of onshore cables and the construction cost for areas with limited space such as urban area, tunnel and bridge, facilitate technical progress of power cable industry, and lead the technological innovation of ultra-high voltage power cable, changing the traditional supply pattern of ultra-high voltage power cable.
